Elizabeth Remicle (maiden name Moore) was born in Delaware in 1874 to native Delaware parents.  By 1900, 26-year old Elizabeth was single and living with her wealthy aunt, Mrs. J. Hood Wright, a second-generation Scottish immigrant, at King’s Bridge Rd. in Manhattan—what is now the center of Central Park. In 1920, Elizabeth, her husband William Remicle, and their 14-year old daughter Mary were living in a rented home on 65th St., in what is now Lincoln Square.  Three female servants from Ireland were also working and living in the home.  Elizabeth’s husband was employed as a manager/official/proprietor, which, along with Elizabeth’s family wealth, helped provide for the family’s comfortable lifestyle..
